Dental Implants in Turkey are based on the global technology.
Implants

Implants surgery is a procedure that replaces tooth roots with metal, screw like posts. Replaces damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones.
Titanium screw is what is referred to as the implant. The reason for the screw being titanium is that titanium fuses with the jawbone. Giving it a more natural feel and creating an anchoring effect.
Surgery can offer a welcome alternative to dentures or bridgework. That doesn’t fit well and can offer an option. When a lack of natural teeth roots don’t allow building denture or bridgework tooth replacements.
Implants won’t slip, make noise or cause bone damage the way fixed bridgework or dentures might.
Performed depends on the type of implant and the condition of your jawbone. Dental implants in Turkey, surgery may involve several procedures. The major benefit of implants is solid support for your new teeth, a process that requires the bone to heal tightly around the implant.
Because this bone healing requires time, the process can take few months. Our surgeon will let you know how many months you need to wait for your healing period. Dental Implant Treatment has 2 visits required.
First visit will be your implant surgery, after your healing period, you will come back for your dental implant Crowns or bridges.

The process of placing a dental implant involves multiple steps, including:
1.Visit
Damaged tooth removal, when needed. Jawbone preparation (bone grafting), when needed. Sinus lifting, when needed. Dental implant placement. Bone growth and healing.
2.Visit
Abutment placement, Artificial tooth placement
During your implant surgery to place the dental implant, oral surgeon makes a cut to open your gum and expose the bone. Holes are drilled into the bone where the dental implant metal post will be placed.
Since the post will serve as the tooth root, it’s implanted deep into the bone. At this point, you’ll still have a gap where your tooth is missing. A type of partial, temporary denture can be placed for appearance, if needed. You should remove this denture for cleaning and while you sleep.
The entire process can take several months from start to finish. Much of that time is devoted to healing and waiting for the growth of new bone in your jaw. Depending on your situation, the specific procedure done or the materials used, certain steps can sometimes be combined such as bone grafting, Sinus Lifting.
We will explain your aftercare steps what you should do during the healing period.

Bone Grafting

If your jawbone isn’t thick enough or is too soft, you may need bone grafting before or during your dental implant surgery.
That’s because the powerful chewing action of your mouth exerts great pressure on your bone, and if it can’t support the implant, the surgery likely would fail. A bone graft can create a more solid base for the implant.
As you wish to have dental implants but do not have enough density in your jawbone to support them, then bone grafts could be your solution.
Your 3D Tomographic image can determine your bone height, shape and density. This is how we will evaluate whether you have experienced enough bone loss to require a grafting procedure.
Bone grafts can help grow new bone to replace the bone destroyed by periodontitis.
In some cases, the maxillary sinus may be too close to the upper jaw regardless of bone mass just because the shape and size of the sinus vary person to person.
Age is also a factor in this, as the sinus can also get larger as you age. In a case like this, a patient would also need a sinus lift to create sufficient space between the upper jaw and the sinuses.
If you’ve previously experienced oral conditions, such as gum or periodontal disease, injury or trauma to your face and or jaw, the quality of your bone may be compromised.
Our surgeon uses Xenigraft such as a bone graft using bone from an animal, usually a cow.
- It’s benefits are;
- Commonly used in surgery
- Not human derived
- Readily available
- Well documented success
- May heal small defects by itself
- Portions of the graft may turn into your own bone.

Sinus Lifting

Sinus lift, also referred to as a sinus augmentation, is performed by an oral surgeon to add bone mass to the upper portion of your jaw.
This procedure is often necessary for patients who have decided on dental implants, but do not have enough bone mass in the jaw above the molars and premolars to support an implant.
Sinuses are located immediately behind your cheeks and above your upper teeth are the maxillary sinuses, which are basically vacant air-filled spaces.
Some of your upper teeth’s roots reach up into the maxillary sinuses, and when these teeth are removed, often just a shallow wall of bone is left behind.
Because dental implants need bone to keep them in place, when that wall is not substantial enough, it is virtually impossible to insert implants securely.
In most cases, a tiny incision is made on the premolar/molar region to reveal the jaw bone. Another small opening is made into the sinus, and the tissue lining of the sinus is gently elevated; the space below is filled with bone grafting material.
After your surgery, the incision is closed and healing begins. We will give you several ice packs to use them around your surgery areas at least for 24 hours before you leave our clinic. You may have some minor swelling of the area after the procedure.
We recommend refraining from blowing your nose and to attempt to sneeze with your mouth open, to prevent the bone-graft material from shifting or causing a communication between your sinus and mouth.
Surgeon will give you saline sprays to moisten the inside lining of your nose, and prescribe drugs to prevent congestion and inflammation.
You will also receive pain medicine, an antibiotic and an antimicrobial mouth rinse to stave off infection. The majority of patients experience only slight discomfort after a sinus augmentation.

Membrane

When a bone graft is needed for a dental implant, it is important that gum tissue does not grow over into the bone graft area. A piece of membrane material is placed over the area where the bone needs to be regenerated.
Membrane encourages the growth of bone. At the same time, it prevents the gum tissue from interfering with the process.
During your oral surgery, resorbable membranes are placed in the surgical site to prevent epithelium from growing into the healing site before bone and other desired tissues can form. Also known as resorbable barrier membranes, they are made from either collagen or synthetic materials.
Because they are resorbable, these membranes naturally break down during the healing process and do not need to be removed. This eliminates the need for a follow-up procedure and reduces the chance of infection at the surgical site.

3D Tomography

Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CT) scanner is a special type of x-ray, providing a highly detailed 3-D image of your teeth, soft tissues, nerves and bone.
It is invaluable when diagnosing and planning certain treatments and lets us give you the very highest level of care.
We’ll suggest a CT scan if you have problems with your wisdom teeth and it is essential when planning dental implant treatments. Our surgeon can provide you with an accurate diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment more quickly and more effectively.
Additionally, a CT scan shows the location of sinuses, nerves and blood vessels within the jaw in great detail. Viewing these structures prior to surgery allows us to tailor our plans to suit your individual needs.
By carefully planning your treatment we can ensure the final results will look aesthetically pleasing and are fully functional. Planning helps ensure your implant surgery proceeds smoothly, so surgery will be completed quickly, effectively and more comfortably.
